Fair Ambassador
18+ Years of Age
Are you recognized as a leader in your community? Do you want to partake in something totally different and fun?
The Milverton Fair Ambassador Competition is a leadership program for males and females 18 years of age and over. It is a one-of-a-kind experience that gives contestants the opportunity to further develop leadership, public speaking and interview skills while meeting new people and getting more involved in the community.
The winner will be the recipient of a $500 Bursary upon successful completion of his or her duties.
The Ambassador competition takes place in September during the Milverton Fair Expo.
Entries due by August 1st in the year of competition.
Fair Ambassador Rules and Regulations
Rules for the Ambassador of the Fair Competition are as follows:
The competition is open to contestants ages 18 and older as of August 1st in the year of the competition. Each contestant should obtain a $50 Sponsor for the event. Contestants, unable to locate a sponsor, should email the committee for assistance at milvertonfair@gmail.com.
Contestants need to:

Enter one item in the Milverton Fair Expo (see fairbook or website www.milvertonag.ca for options).

Create an ‘All About Me’ display on a trifold board (no additional items required to accompany the display).

Give a brief oral answer in the impromptu segment.

Give a prepared speech on a topic related to agriculture (3 minutes).
A panel of judges will interview each contestant on competition day (5 minutes). The competition will be limited to three contestants and the judges’ decision is final. Applications are due before August 1st in the year of the competition. For any additional information please contact the chairperson.
For the winner to receive the $500 bursary they must attend the following events:

● Parade of Lights (December)
● OAAS Convention (February)
● District 8 Workshop (April)
● District 8 Competition (May)
● Line Dancing (May)
● Youth Leadership Program (May)
● Moonlight Madness (August)
● CNE Competition (August)
● Milverton Fair Expo (September)
● Attend at least one Milverton Agricultural Society Meeting
